Wanda Morrow Clevenger

a spatter gray
out the north field
trekked far
to my back door
won’t be shooed

desire for owning
furor best lent to
timmys and lassies

so many artful habitats
donated to auction,
birdcage last to go
―hardest to let go

and I am leery of this
gray under my porch
he makes himself
too much at home
